Illinois American Water to Replace Valve at Farmington Water Treatment Plant; Boil Water Order Issued

Boil Water Order for City of Farmington beginning Tuesday, June 7.

Farmington, Ill. – (June 3, 2022) – Illinois American Water is completing an investment project at the Farmington Water Treatment plant.  Work includes replacing a tank valve. The work requires a boil water order for the City of Farmington beginning Tuesday, June 7, 2022

Beginning at 7 am on Tuesday, June 7, Farmington customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for five minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is okay for bathing, washing and other common uses. The boil water order supports critical work at the water treatment plant to replace a tank valve. Customers are being notified of this work and related boil water order via media outreach, the company’s customer notification system, and website alerts at www.illinoisamwater.com. Information is also provided to customer service center representatives. Landlords are required to keep tenants informed.

Customers will be notified in the same manner when the boil water order is lifted, which is expected to be Friday, June 10, 2022.  To receive updates, customers should ensure their contact information is up to date on their Illinois American Water account. Customers can manage their account online at www.illinoisamwater.com or by calling 800-422-2782 to update their information.
