In September 2008, we were awarded ownership and a 50-year contract for the operations and maintenance of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities at Fort Hood, Texas.
We are the permittee of the system IAW the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Our responsibilities include system capital investment, regulatory and environmental compliance, planning, asset recapitalization, and long-term operations and maintenance. The potable water distribution system consists of ground water supply, treatment, storage, and piping.
Our water system includes 300 miles of pipe supporting 18 surface tanks and 11 pump stations to distribute water supplied by Belton County and the City of Gatesville. The wastewater collection system includes two treatment plants, 200 miles of pipe and 39 lift stations.
