SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA. (Jan. 31, 2019) – California American Water is offering a 30-day billing grace period for federal workers who were adversely affected by the recent government shutdown.
Customers affected by the shutdown may request a 30-day grace period on their account by contacting the company’s customer service line at 1-888-237-1333. During this time, qualifying customers will continue to receive a bill, but will not incur late payment fees or be subject to collection efforts. In addition, these customers will not be disconnected due to non-payment during the 30-day period.
These protections come in addition to those offered in the company’s standard customer service policy, which includes offering payment plans and working with customers to address billing concerns.
